Hinata was the first familiar face Mikan saw when she came to Haven. Despite knowing the "real" Mikan, he was still kind to her upon arrival and from then on; that's something she'll never forget.

Though she knew it was painful for him, Hinata told her the majority of what happened on Jabberwock Island. She knows it's selfish, but she likes to think that Haven is a new life, different from the one on Jabberwock Island (and even before that), and she was glad that he thought of her as a different person to boot - one that he wasn't hateful towards.

In essence, Hinata was one of her most trusted friends and she'll always be grateful for having met him, regardless of the circumstances. Just thinking about him gives her hope to keep moving forward.

NAGITO KOMAEDA

To Mikan, Nagito Komaeda is an enigma. On Jabberwock Island, he was idealistic and full of optimism; even if he scared her and everybody else, she admired his enthusiasm (to an extent, at least - a very small one). She kept her distance, but he still made her feel uneasy at best.

While she was in Haven for the first time, he acted distant, cold, and disgusted by her for the terrible things the "real" Mikan has done. Whatever those things were, she wasn't sure she wanted to know, but she understood him and sympathized with him nonetheless. The tables had been turned, she realized, and she felt pity for the Komaeda she knew on Jabberwock Island. She vowed to treat him better once she went back.

However, when she came back to Haven for the second time, he suddenly related to her as them being "both wretched and disgusting people" which she thought long and hard about. She knew Komaeda had the tendency to treat himself as a lowly person, but she couldn't help but feel there was more to that statement than what she heard.

SONIA NEVERMIND

Sonia, like Hinata, knew of the "real" Mikan when they first met up in Haven. In this respect, she's just as grateful to Sonia as she is to Hinata for still treating her with the civility of a classmate that she doesn't deserve.

Mikan and Sonia haven't talked much outside of Haven, but Sonia is a very just and strong-willed person and Mikan envies that. Until she met Sonia, she never knew someone could be so full of confidence and self-sufficiency as her. She hopes that Haven will give her the chance to be as close to Sonia as she'd like, even though she knows that it might be difficult for Sonia to spend time with Mikan after what happened on Jabberwock Island.

JUNKO ENOSHIMA

Mikan has an unwavering feeling that Junko knows more about her than she knows about Junko. When they first met, Junko acted disappointed that Mikan didn't know who she was (acted disappointed) and seemed to know that she was from Hope's Peak.

Yet Junko also knew where to hit home with Mikan, tending to all of her sweet spots with promises of accepting her and being nice as long as she did what she asked - so she did. Of course, they were menial tasks, but for some reason, Mikan feels safe and welcome when she's with Junko. Who's to say she won't do anything more than menial tasks for her?

LEON KUWATA

Their meeting was brief, but Leon's brashness struck a nerve in Mikan. She doesn't know much about him, but if they meet again, she'll be sure to watch herself around him.

More importantly, she already gave off a bad impression when she knocked him down and hurt his nose when they met! How embarrassing!

SAYAKA MAIZONO

She knew Sayaka the first time she was in Haven, but now that Sayaka doesn't remember being here before, Mikan is more determined to be better friends with her. After all, she feels a special bond with people who were also stuck in the Hope's Peak situation as well.

She still doesn't know much about Sayaka, but that doesn't stop her from trusting her. Mikan knows she's a friendly and genuine person, and that's all she needs to warm up even further to her.

Dante is of... a questionable nature. Or at least, he was when they first met. Mikan didn't understand it then, but now she regrets falling down and accidentally showing him her underwear in the process, because he was definitely the wrong person to have seen that. Hopefully, he's forgotten about that. Hopefully. He's a good guy, but he's too much of just that - a testosterone-packed guy - for Mikan to understand or break out of her shell for.

But she appreciated how much he tried to help her later on and thought he really was a gentleman. One day, she aspires to return the favor and act as a savior for him when he really needs it! Though she'll never tell him that... Embarrassing!

LUMINA

Lumina is her only roommate besides Matsuda, and frankly, she's not sure if she's much of an improvement. She may be playful and look like a sweet girl, but, well... she's definitely that, except with an added dash of spice (the kind that makes your throat burn and your eyes tear up). During their first encounter, Lumina started off by agreeing with Mikan about how pathetic she was and watching her cry in the corner of the room instead of you know, actually helping her.

Mikan felt like if she knew more about Lumina, she wouldn't be so afraid of her. But until then, she plans on keeping her distance unless she's feeling brave.

Despite Setz's quiet and 'don't bother me' kind of aura, Mikan feels akin to him. She thinks they both bottled up their feelings deep inside of themselves, but just guard them in a different way. For this, she pities him, but also wants to be closer to him and coax him out of his ways as much as she can... even though that's a bit hypocritical of her.

She still doesn't know a lot about his past or personality which keeps her walking on eggshells because of how jagged he is, but she's willing to look past that for the time being so they can smooth out their relationship first. She just needs to take the initiative and shoot down her own barriers before this can happen.

TATSUMA SAKAMOTO
GINTAMA

Sakamoto was the one person in Haven that Mikan felt she could go to anything for, without it being a burden. He taught her what it was like to have, and be, a true friend. Sometimes she still wonders if their relationship was all a lie just to make her even more miserable (it really is too good to be true in a place like Haven!), but when she thinks of the sincerity in his rarely-seen eyes she knows she's finally found someone she can call family.

After learning about his past, she felt even closer to him. If he could trust her with something like that, she thought she could trust him with anything. Except... for her life before Haven and the "real" Mikan. Mikan thought that because she needed him so much, he may have needed her too, and she didn't want to sever their trust by telling him that she was really dead and a murderer. She felt guilty and selfish for it, but she also was too afraid of losing her closest link.

At the same time, she feels Sakamoto is too carefree and forgiving, which makes her worry and fret much more than she'd like to. Ever since she accidentally killed him, Mikan doesn't even want a scratch on him, let alone for him to be malnourished and taken advantage of! She can't protect him like she wants to, and that's why she vowed to herself to get stronger for him, even after he leaves (though she wouldn't like to think about him leaving).
